The new normal
Updated: Jun 26, 2020
It's been a while but for the first time in over 3 months, we are finally opening the shutters and stocking our shelves ready to say hi to our customers in Dundee, followed by our Cupar, Crossgate shop next week. Back to the new normal... We've really missed our customers!
All three of our Dundee shops will re-open this Friday 26th June, followed by Crossgate in Cupar on Wednesday 1st July. Our opening times will be reduced for the first few days, and then from Wednesday 1st July we will have more regular opening hours across all shops.

Initial opening times, Dundee:
Whitehall Street: Fri 26th, Sat 27th & Tues 30th, 9.15am-4.30pm (closed 1.30-2pm daily and shut on Monday 29th)
Perth Road: Fri 26th, Sat 27th & Tues 30th, 9.15am-4.30pm (closed 1.30-2pm daily and shut on Monday 29th)
Lochee Road: Fri 26th, Sat 27th & Tues 30th, 9.15am-4.30pm (closed 1.30-2pm daily and shut on Monday 29th)
From Wednesday 1st July, all of our shops will be open Monday - Saturday, 9am-5pm*
*Lochee Road will be shut 1.30-2pm daily

With the re-opening of our Dundee shops on Friday, and our Crossgate (Cupar) shop on Wednesday 1st July, we are pleased to finally be able to serve all of our customers again. We also look forward to more of our wholesale customers re-opening and F&D goodies winging their way around the country to all the wonderful cafes, restaurants and shops that we supply. We will continue to provide our home delivery service, with an updated schedule of Tuesday - Saturday deliveries (please note we are no longer delivering on Mondays).
We have taken the decision to keep our MacArthurs & Sons branch in St Andrews closed for the time being, focusing on our larger Church Street shop where we can better implement social distancing measures.
A wee note to all of our lovely customers: we ask that you please bear with us as we navigate re-opening our shops. It is not an easy feat for our staff (both in the shops and behind the scenes). We are doing our best. We are trying to predict numbers as best we can and have the appropriate amount of food on our shelves, but from our experience being open in Cupar and St Andrews these past few weeks, it is no longer very easy to predict. As a bakery which works through the night to bring you fresh bread and cakes daily, if we have a very busy morning, we may run out of certain products before close. As we sell the majority of our stock fresh daily, it is a balancing act to bake the right amounts to not have food go to waste. Ordinarily this is something we can predict with small margins for error, but shopping habits are changing and it is just not as simple now as it normally is.
We are doing our best. Our staff are doing their best.
We appreciate your patience and your understanding. We can't wait to welcome you back! Thank you for your continued custom.
