A New Chapter for Us in St Andrews

We’ve got something really exciting to share with you – after more than 70 wonderful years on Church Street, we’re growing! But don’t worry, we’re not going far. In fact, we’re just planning to open up something new and exciting around the corner at 125 South Street, which will become our flagship bakery and café.

This move marks a huge moment for us as a family and a business. As fifth-generation bakers, St Andrews has long been our home. We’ve absolutely loved being part of the town centre on Church Street, but we’ve simply outgrown the space, and the time feels right to take the next step.

Why We’re Moving

125 South Street gives us the space we need to grow, while still being right in the heart of the town we love. It’s a beautiful building with so much potential – and we can’t wait to fill it with the smells of fresh baking, more seating for breakfast and lunch, and even more room for gifts, chocolates and baking experiences.

This is more than just a move. It’s us putting down even deeper roots in St Andrews. We want to make sure we’re here to serve locals, students, families and tourists – all of you – for another hundred years to come. Our new plans will include a larger takeaway retail space, a cafe with casual seating, a luxury space for afternoon tea, as well as a family-friendly area and garden space. We also hope to have a small on-site bakery where you can see our delicious bakes being made and take part in workshops and bakery experiences.

“St Andrews is our home and we’ve loved being on Church Street for 70 years. It has been such a privilege to serve this community and our new space gives us the chance to keep doing what we love – baking, serving, and being part of your day – for generations to come.”
— The Milne Family

Restoring Something Special

We’re working closely with architect Richard Keating and his team at RKA, who share our vision for the new space. It’s important to us that we restore the charm and character of the building and make it a place that feels truly “F&D.”

“It’s a privilege to help breathe new life into such a well-loved building in the centre of St Andrews. Our goal is to restore its charm and make it a fitting, permanent home for Fisher & Donaldson that will serve the town and its visitors for generations to come.”
— Richard Keating, RKA Architects

What’s Next?

We’ll be sharing updates and behind-the-scenes peeks as we bring our vision to life, so keep an eye on our blog and socials. We cannot wait to welcome you into our new home – same fudge doughnuts, same warm welcome, just with more space to enjoy it all. Estimated opening, Summer 2026.

Thank you for being part of our story. We’re so proud to grow this next chapter right here in the town we love.

With love,
All of us at Fisher & Donaldson
