A Buzzing Success: Celebrating Bee Day with Fife Beekeepers
There was such a buzz in the air at our Ceres Road bakery on World Bee Day (May 20th) when we kicked off a brand-new partnership with our friends at the Fife Beekeepers Association (FBA). What a sweet day it was!
With blue skies and sunshine, we welcomed the local community to celebrate everything bees and baking. Our friends at the Fife Beekeepers Association brought along a fascinating live bee display, shared expert insights into the incredible world of pollinators, and answered all your buzzing questions about beekeeping. It was a hive of activity (literally), and we were thrilled to be able to share the association’s love of beekeeping with our customers.

Introducing the Belgian Biscuit Beehive
One of the highlights of the day was the big reveal of our specially designed Belgian Biscuit Beehive—a colourful, hand-painted hive that looks good enough to eat (but please don’t!!). This one-of-a-kind creation will soon be home to a colony of bees at the association’s brand-new teaching apiary at Balcaskie Estate. We’re incredibly proud to sponsor this hive and to support FBA’s work through in-kind catering for their events and providing ongoing backing for their vital educational initiatives.

Bee Day Biscuits for a Great Cause
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Fisher & Donaldson celebration without something delicious to take home! All week long, we’ve had limited-edition Bee Day Biscuits on sale – a sweet treat with a purpose. A portion of every sale goes directly to the Fife Beekeepers Association to help fund their teaching apiary and beekeeping education programmes. They’ve been flying off the shelves, so grab one while stocks last!
Why Bees Matter
Bees are more than just busy little insects – they are essential to our food systems, pollinating the flowers that grow into fruits, vegetables, and even the grains that go into your favourite loaves. Supporting the FBA means helping protect these tiny environmental champions, and we’re honoured to play a role in their important mission.

A Partnership with Purpose
Our Retail Director Chloe Milne, said:
“When the Fife Beekeepers Association approached us about sponsoring a hive, it was an instant yes. We loved the idea of combining creativity, community, and conservation in such a sweet way.”
The feeling is mutual. Andy Rivers, Chair of the Fife Beekeepers Association, shared:
“Fisher & Donaldson’s support has helped make our new training apiary possible, and this partnership will have a lasting impact – not just for our members, but for the wider community and the environment too.”
Let’s Keep the Buzz Going
This is just the beginning of our partnership with the FBA, and we are so excited about what’s to come. With plans for Fife honey hitting our shelves, and ongoing sponsorship of the association, we’re committed to supporting bees and the brilliant Fife beekeepers who care for them in our local area.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for Bee Day – we couldn’t have asked for a better launch. If you missed it, don’t worry! We hope to make it an annual celebration. In the meantime, pop into your local shop, pick up a Bee Day Biscuit, look out for more events on FBA’s social media, and help us keep the buzz alive.
